Fish
Bass
I love bass fishing because these guys put up such a great fight. Bass fishing, both Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass has been a personal favorite of mine since a young age and both Geneva and Delevan have them both and some really big ones. On my boat, you will learn many professional techniques and keys to consistently catching bass. Its not uncommon to catch a Personal Best fish on a day on the lake with Jim.
Panfish
Some fish are fun for their size and others for their taste. Panfish have been a dinner table favorite for centuries. If you want to bring a fish fry home for supper, I will be sure to make that happen for you. I am sure that you will have a full belly and the knowledge to catch yourself leftovers next time. Both Geneva and Delevan yield some amazing Panfish so it’s not hard to go home with a good fish fry, but please keep in mind to not over harvest and just take what you can eat for a meal and please practice catch and release so we can sustain these awesome fisheries. Please during the spawning periods please practice catch and release with the pre-spawners so they can do their job and we can have more fish for the future.
Pike & Muskie
There is good Pike and Muskie in both Geneva and Delevan. The Pike have been here for a very long time. I’ve been fishing for Pike on Geneva since I was a kid. In 2010 the Chippewa or Upper Wisconsin River Muskie strains were introduced to Geneva and are doing good and getting big. Just recently the Leech Lake strain has been added to the mix. It will be exciting to see where it unfolds from here. I love turning my clients on to a Toothy Crittiers, like Pike and Muskies, the mere size of these beasts make for an epic battle. I’ll help you catch a giant Gator with my time tested tricks.
Walleye
Walleye are one of the best tasting Table fare but not often caught by many on Geneva or Delevan until just recently. For a long time it was just the Die Hard Walleye anglers who would night fish and have success catching these elusive fish. Thanks to great efforts from the Wi. DNR and the great organization, Walleyes for Tomorrow, who have worked very hard to build up the populations of walleye on both Geneva and Delevan and now anglers are catching more walleye then ever on both bodies of water. Jim will share important techniques for walleye fishing such as technique, location and bait selection. My clients have caught many walleyes historically and the future looks bright for the walleye on both Geneva and Delevan. If you want to shoot for these guys, let me know and we’ll build it into our expedition together.
